How Auto Accessories Will Keep Your New Car Looking New

The purchase of a new car is an event enjoyed by all of the buyer's senses. The new car smell and the flawless interior and ride are a major enjoyment when purchasing a new vehicle. Yet some of the accessories needed to keep your new car in pristine condition are not included no matter how expensive the car may be. Let's discuss what the accessories should be.

Floor Mats

I have some bad news for you. Floor mats are an extra cost option on most new cars these days. I would have thought for the price you're paying for cars. They could have at least given you a set of floor mats! The good news is you can get a better deal by purchasing them yourself and you can pick the mats you like the best. I enjoy driving a pickup truck. The mats I pick are much heavier and more durable than anything the dealer is giving away. Floor mats are an important accessory for your new vehicle. They protect the carpeting from dirt and excessive wear and tear. This becomes even more important if you are leasing the vehicle.

Cargo Liners

Think of cargo liners as the floor mats for your trunk. Car manufacturers have gotten smarter over the years and most will include a cargo liner as standard equipment but there are the few that still make it an extra cost option. Some will give you a flimsy covering they call a cargo liner. Check it out for yourself.

Car Bra

These things have always seemed more of a style statement than a useful accessory. I have finally come to the realization that the days of bumpers and grills made of chrome and steel  have long gone. Plastic and paint are now the materials of choice. These new materials do not hold up as well as the old bumpers and require some extra protection to stay in pristine condition. Car bras are designed to help prevent the chips and rock pecks from damaging your bumper and grill. Buy one designed for your car. It will fit better and last longer than a generic.

Bug Shields

These are a must if you live in a humid climate. Ask anyone that lives in Florida about love bugs. During certain times of the year they travel in swarms and will make a mess out of your hood and windshield. Bug shields are also marketed as bug deflectors

Brake Dust Shields

Can I see a show of hands from the people who have spent many happy hours cleaning that accumulation of fine black dust from your wheels? These little gadgets will greatly reduce this chore. They are basically wheel covers for the inside of your wheels. They shield your wheels from all that black brake pad dust. This is a real time saver when washing your car.

Car Cover

Car covers protect your cars finish from indoor pollution and dust damage while it’s stored in your garage. When parked outside, your cars finish will be protected from the sun's damaging rays, bird poop(is it okay to use the term "Poop"?), moisture and small impacts. These covers can be bought for less than $100.

Summary

That completes my list of accessories you'll need to keep your new car looking new. Most of this stuff can be found online or at your local discount auto parts store. You'll save a bunch of money over getting it at the dealers.

This is a great accessory list for those with cars that require serious pampering pal. Personally, I'm more into stripped cars with bucket seats and rollcages, but regardless, nice job. ;)

EpicNoob - Thanks for the comment and the compliment. I can understand your preference for stripped cars. There's a race car driver hidden in all of us.

Jack, I wish I had a car that required those particular items. If you have a nice car I think they are well worth the cost. Good hub.

Pam, Thanks for the comment. These are things for someone interested in keeping their new car in pristine condition. Personally, I am more of a beat-up old pickup truck kind of guy.

This is an awesome Hub, really original and, as far as I know, unchartered!

I've gotta say, I prefer the bare bones look, but it depends where the individual finds the value. Cheers!
